At Ben & Jerry’s, we are really lucky to have motivated and passionate change makers help to make an impact through our Scoop Stores! Over Christmas, our Manly Scoop Store Manager ran the Ben & Jerry’s 2021 Gift Drive and delivered some pretty cool results!
We asked Alyssa our Manly Store Manager to give us the details.
Hi everyone, my name is Alyssa, and I am the Store Manager of our Manly Scoop Shop!
From the 1st Dec up until Christmas 2021 all of the Ben & Jerry’s ANZ Scoop Shops and Support Office participated in the ‘Ben & Jerry’s 2021 Gift Drive’. 2021 was a rollercoaster year that brought us extensive lockdowns, so we thought it was important for us all to end the year with a little Christmas cheer by lending a hand to those who needed it the most.
A massive focus across Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Stores is driving our Social Mission values by supporting local, grassroots movements within our communities. A total of 18 stores participated in the Gift Drive and had their Social Mission Champions choose 1 local organisation to support.
In total, 15 local organisations were supported across ANZ. These included:
- QLD – Ruth’s Women’s Shelter, Youturn, Sunnykids, Muderie Retirement Village
- NSW – Wayside Chapel, Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter, Pure Foundation
- VIC – Launch Housing, Youth Projects, Sacred Heart Mission
- WA – Saint Pats, Youth Futures WA, No Limits Perth
- NZ – Christchurch City Mission, Foster Hope
A grand total of 220 gifts were donated across our network and helped to support those who needed it the most. Every store that participated was able to donate all gifts to their chosen organisations and in turn were able to foster and build on existing community relationships. We’re very thankful for all the support we received from the community and are excited to continue working within the Social Mission space.
